Police said the 29-year-old victim was riding the B-47 bus in Brooklyn Monday when a pair of teens snatched his iPhone and one of them punched him in the face when he attempted to give chase, the New York Daily News reported Wednesday.
The victim told police he had installed FindMyiPhone, an app that works like a GPS, on his device and officers plugged the man's Apple ID number into another iPhone.
Police tracked the phone Tuesday to the Uniss Deli, where employee Sadek Abdullah, 25, admitted to purchasing the stolen phone for $60.
Abdullah was arrested on a charge of criminal possession of stolen property and investigators said they are looking into whether the deli is connected to the black market for stolen electronic devices.
