Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe JERRY BRUCKHEIMER Filmmaker Jerry Bruckheimer says there were so many acts of bravery surrounding the tragic events of Sept. 11, he believes he will one day make a movie about some of them. Advertisement "I love making pictures that make a difference, about people who make a difference," Bruckheimer told UPI in a phone interview. Asked if that meant he could make a movie about the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon four months ago, he replied: "Sure. I think there will be stories that will come out of (the terrorist attacks on the United States) and they will be very heroic and worthwhile telling and somebody is going to have to sit down and write it. I'm sure it will be a journalist just like Mark Bowden (the author of 'Black Hawk Down,' the non-fiction book on which Bruckheimer's new movie is based), who saw these young men being dragged through the streets back in 1993 and said, 'Boy, I bet there's a real story about that' and he went out and researched the book." Advertisement However, Bruckheimer admits that the wounds inflicted on America last year are still too fresh to turn into a movie any time soon. "Black Hawk Down" -- which stars "Pearl Harbor" cast members Josh Hartnett and Tom Sizemore -- hits theaters almost nine years after a group of U.S. soldiers were killed during a United Nations peacekeeping mission in Somalia. Bruckheimer pointed out that that movie's release while the United States is fighting a war in Afghanistan is particularly meaningful "because it shows you what (the soldiers) might be doing or are doing over there." (Thanks to UPI's Karen Butler in New York) BRAD PITT Brad Pitt is teaming up with Italian jeweler Damiani to design an exclusive jewelry collection. In addition, Jennifer Aniston -- Pitt's wife -- will be featured in an international advertising campaign for the company that will run in a number of countries throughout the world, with the exception of North America. The relationship between Damiani and Pitt started several years ago when Pitt saw a Diamond International Award winning piece designed by Silvia Damiani. The actor contacted Damiani about co-designing the engagement ring he would give to Aniston. As a result, Pitt also worked with Damiani to co-design the couple's wedding bands. Advertisement AND NOW, HERE'S YOUR HOST ... Producers of the upcoming 44th Annual Grammy Awards have announced that Jon Stewart will return as host. The host of MTV's "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" earned excellent reviews for his work on last year's Grammy show. This year's telecast is scheduled for Feb. 27 on CBS. Meanwhile, organizers of the upcoming NAACP Image Awards say Chris Tucker ("Rush Hour," "Rush Hour 2") will host the ceremonies. The Image Awards will be presented on Feb. 23 in Los Angeles, and televised March 1 on Fox. PATTI PAGE Patti Page, still touring at 74, is reaching out to the youngest music audience around with a new album of children's music. Like so many other established hit makers, Page attracts an audience made up of her old fans as well as their children and, in many cases, their grandchildren. Because of that, and because of input from her own grandchildren, Page has gotten around to something she said she's always wanted to do -- an album of music for children. "When I heard 'All the Pretty Little Ponies' with Kenny Loggins, I just flipped over it and so did my kids," said Page. "We have two grandchildren living with us -- 6 and 8. I get my vibes from them as to what CDs they kind of like. Fortunately, they don't like any of the junk." Advertisement The album, "Child of Mine," includes "Rainbow Connection," "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," "You Are So Beautiful," "Ants in The Pants" and of course, "How Much Is That Doggie in the Window?" -- done with a reggae arrangement. Page performs in concert about 30 times a year across the United States and hosts "The Patti Page Show," a weekly broadcast on the Music of Your Life radio network. She plans to keep working as long as she can get the job done. "As long as the voice is there," said Page. "I have always said that I wouldn't try to go out there when the voice is gone.
