CBS renews 'Criminal Minds' for 2016-17

LOS ANGELES, May 6 (UPI) -- CBS announced Friday it has renewed its popular police procedural Criminal Minds for a full season to air in 2016-17.

This will be the series' 12th season.

The small-screen drama stars Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Matthew Gray Gubler, A.J. Cook and Kirsten Vangsness.

It follows fictional investigators for the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit, which is based in Quantico, Va.
