Perry will open the program with "Unconditionally," the second single from her new album, "PRISM," while Lopez will perform a tribute to music icon Celia Cruz.

The two surviving members of the Atlanta vocal trio TLC will take the stage with a special unannounced guest. Member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez died in a car crash more than a decade ago.

Other performers booked to sing at this month's AMAs show include Luke Bryan, Miley Cyrus, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Imagine Dragons, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, One Direction and Justin Timberlake.

Pitbull is to serve as host of the event.
