'Family,' '30 Rock' lead TV SAG nods

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- "Modern Family" dominated with five nods when the Screen Actors Guild Award nominations were announced Wednesday.

The sitcom will compete with "30 Rock," "The Big Bang Theory," "Glee" and "The Office" for the Outstanding Ensemble of a Comedy Series Award.

"Modern Family" co-stars Ty Burrell and Eric Stonestreet will compete in the Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series race with Alec Baldwin from "30 Rock," Steve Carell from "The Office" and Jon Cryer from "Two and a Half Men."

Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara of "Modern Family" were nominated in the Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series category. Also nominated are Edie Falco from "Nurse Jackie," Tina Fey from "30 Rock" and Betty White from "Hot in Cleveland."

The casts of "Boardwalk Empire," "Breaking Bad," "Dexter," "Game of Thrones" and "The Good Wife" are the contenders for Outstanding Ensemble of a Drama Series.

Shortlisted for the Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series accolade are Patrick J. Adams for "Suits," Steve Buscemi for "Boardwalk Empire," Kyle Chandler for "Friday Night Lights," Bryan Cranston for "Breaking Bad" and Michael C. Hall for "Dexter."

In the running for the Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series are Kathy Bates for "Harry's Law," Glenn Close for "Damages," Jessica Lange for "American Horror Story," Julianna Margulies for "The Good Wife" and Kyra Sedgwick for "The Closer."

The 18th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be simulcast live nationally on TNT and TBS Jan. 29.
