Jason Aldean, Brittany Kerr expecting first child together

May 9 (UPI) -- Jason Aldean and wife Brittany Kerr Aldean are expecting their first child together. The couple announced the news on Instagram.

"Been hard to keep this secret but we couldn't be happier to add to our family," Aldean posted. "This year just gets better and better. #bunintheoven."

His wife, a former American Idol contestant, also posted an announcement on Instagram, "SURPRISE!!! WE ARE PREGNANT!!! This was the hardest secret we've ever had to keep. This journey for us has been full of many happy times & also many tears... The biggest rollercoaster we have ever been on, without a doubt! All of the moments of heartache were followed by the biggest blessing in the entire world!! We will never take one moment for granted & can't wait to meet you, sweet baby!!!"

Aldean has two daughters with his ex-wife Jessica Ussery. In 2015, the country star talked about wanting to start a family with Kerr Aldean in an interview with People.

"In the next couple of years, probably, we definitely want to have kids," Aldean said to the magazine.
