LOS ANGELES, May 5 (UPI) -- Mutants Storm and Angel of X-Men fame take center stage in a pair of new character teasers for Fox's upcoming superhero epic, X-Men: Apocalypse.

Released Wednesday, the clips highlight Storm's ability to summon deadly weather storms and Angel's high-flying acrobatics.

"Storm has got this darkness to her. Apocalypse makes her stronger and more powerful," Alexandra Shipp, who portrays the weather wizard in the film, says as her character is seen blasting lighting at the X-Men.

"Angel is very angry. He casts a shadow of death across the land," adds Ben Hardy in his footage showing Angel flying over a destroyed city.

The pair will be featured in the film as followers of new antagonist Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), alongside Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and Psylocke (Olivia Munn) to form the Four Horsemen.

The last of the X-Men remaining from 2014's Days of Future Past, including leader Professor X (James McAvoy), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and Beast (Nicholas Hoult), are earth's only defense as they accompany a team of rookie heroes, including Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Quicksilver (Evan Peters) and Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee), in order to take on Apocalypse and his minions.

Directed by series helmer Bryan Singer, X-Men: Apocalypse arrives in theaters May 27.

Recently, Lawrence expressed interest in starring in more X-Men films despite declaring earlier that Apocalypse would be her last outing as the shapeshifting Mystique. "I am dying to come back," the star said. "I love these movies, I love being in them. I love ensemble movies because it's not on anyone's shoulders."
