LOS ANGELES, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment have released the final trailer for The Divergent Series: Allegiant.

The new clip showcases Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) taking a stand against David (Jeff Daniels), head of the Bureau of Genetic Welfare, who is in charge of a thriving, yet mysterious city outside the walls of Chicago.

"After the earth-shattering revelations of Insurgent, Tris must escape with Four and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago," reads the film's official synopsis.

"Once outside, old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless with the revelation of shocking new truths. Tris and Four must quickly decide who they can trust as a ruthless battle ignites beyond the walls of Chicago which threatens all of humanity," it continues.

Directed by Robert Schwentke, Allegiant also stars Octavia Spencer, Zoë Kravitz, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Maggie Q, and Naomi Watts and is due in theaters Mar. 18.

Recently, Schwentke departed the fourth and final film in the series, Ascendant citing a need to take a break after helming the last two entries. Lionsgate is looking to hire a new director soon as Ascendant was scheduled to shoot in Atlanta this summer with a planned June 9, 2017 release date.
