"Congratulations to @nickcarter & @Lauren_Kitt on the birth of their beautiful first son, Odin," the Backstreet Boys wrote on their official Twitter account. "Welcome to the club brother. #BackstreetDads."

Carter and Kitt married in 2014 and revealed they were expecting a baby boy on Dancing with the Stars in November. Kitt previously suffered a miscarriage, and Carter said there were times they "thought [children] wouldn't happen."

"It has been our dream to have a family together and we cannot wait to welcome our first child into the world," he said after the show.

Insiders confirmed Kitt had "a very difficult labor" to E! News but said she was prepared for the home birth. Carter had nothing but praise for his wife when he spoke to ET at the Los Angeles premiere of his SyFy film, Dead7.

"I don't want to get all sappy, [but] she's the reason I felt comfortable [becoming a dad], and I knew that she would be the perfect mother," he said. "She would be able to help me teach our child all the things that he needs to learn."

Carter released his third solo album, All American, in November, and released In A World Like This with the Backstreet Boys in 2013. The singer confirmed the band is planning a limited Las Vegas residency in an interview with UPI this month.
