LOS ANGELES, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Justin Bieber stepped out in place of James Corden Thursday night during the opening monologue of The Late Late Show.

The 21-year-old "Sorry" singer opened the show seamlessly, starting out with a Hillary Clinton joke and heading straight into quips about Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer and Bernie Sanders before being interrupted by host Corden.

Wearing a robe and head towel, Corden berated Bieber for starting the show without permission. When asked why he would step out as host of Corden's show, the pop star admitted he really wants to host his own show.

"Can I be honest with you?" Bieber asks Corden coyly before admitting his dream.

"Then go and get your own show, OK?" Corden said. "You got to back off!"

The Canadian pop artist put on his best puppy dog face before the angry Corden finally agreed to let Bieber host the show, to the audience's delight.

Before recording the show, Bieber also showed off a new addition to his body ink. The Purpose artist shared a photo of two angel wings peeking out from his shirt collar from the backstage dressing room alongside the caption, "New tattoo :)."

The new addition marks Bieber's 52nd tattoo, according to Billboard.
