Grammys 2015 nominees: The full list

The awards will recognize outstanding achievement in the music industry in acts released from Oct. 1, 2013 through Sept. 30, 2014.

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 5 (UPI) -- The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences will reveal the nominees for the 57th Annual Grammy Awards throughout the day on Friday.

The first batch of nominations was unveiled at 8:30 a.m. on CBS's This Morning and The Grammys' Twitter account will continue to release nominations from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The contenders for the biggest honor of the night, Album of The Year, were revealed Friday night on CBS' A Very Grammy Christmas televised event, where Sam Smith, Ariana Grande, Mary J. Blige, Maroon 5, Pharrell Williams and Tim McGraw performed.

The awards will recognize outstanding achievement in the music industry in acts released from Oct. 1, 2013 through Sept. 30, 2014, thus making Taylor Swift's record-breaking album 1989 ineligible for this year's accolade.

The 57th Annual Grammy Awards will air on Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
