NEW YORK, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Liam Hemsworth and Jennifer Lawrence have both said they are one of each other's best friends during the promotional tour for their upcoming film Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, but the Australian hunk told Jimmy Fallon Friday he wasn't particularly fond of his kissing scenes with the Oscar-winner.

"Anytime I had to kiss Jennifer was pretty uncomfortable," Hemsworth, 24, said on The Tonight Show.

"When you look at it on the outside, it looks like a great picture," he explained. "She's one of my best friends, I love her, but if we had a kissing scene, she would make a point of eating garlic or tuna fish or something that was disgusting."

Lawrence, who is famous for her candor, would reportedly walk up to the actor before the scenes and disclose she hadn't brushed her teeth.

"I'd be like, 'Fantastic, I can't wait to get in there and taste it!'" he joked.

Hemsworth and Lawrence's Mockingjay Part 1 opens in theaters on Nov. 21.
