Channing Tatum says wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum keeps him 'sane'

"Jenna puts everything in perspective for me, always," the actor shared.

NEW YORK, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Channing Tatum credits wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum with keeping him sane.

The 34-year-old actor said as much to reporters at a screening of his new film Foxcatcher in New York on Tuesday. Tatum and the 33-year-old actress have been married five years, and are parents to an 18-month-old daughter named Everly.

"She keeps us all sane," he shared. "Jenna puts everything in perspective for me, always. I'll find myself spinning out angry or whatever, or even happy, and she always somehow ends up righting the ship ... I just want to have that, more of that, more time with the family."

Tatum and Dewan-Tatum met on the set of Step Up in 2006, and got engaged in September 2008. The couple married in July 2009, and welcomed Everly in London in June 2013. The actor expressed his joy at seeing his daughter experience new things this summer.

Foxcatcher stars Tatum as real-life Olympic wrestler Mark Schultz. Mark Ruffalo portrays the character's brother, Dave Schultz, who was shot and killed by longtime sponsor and trouble millionaire John du Pont (Steve Carell) in 1996. The film opens November 14.

Dewan-Tatum has appeared in such films as American Virgin and 10 Years, and portrayed Teresa Morrison on FX series American Horror Story: Asylum. The actress currently stars as Freya Beauchamp on Lifetime drama The Witches of East End, which was canceled last week.
