The celebrity couple hid behind notecards featuring the names and websites of their favorite charities.

NEW YORK, June 18 (UPI) -- Andrew Garfield must have learned a thing or two playing Spider-Man, whose Uncle Ben once told him, "with great power comes great responsibility."

The 30-year-old actor was eating out in New York City on Tuesday with his girlfriend and co-star, Emma Stone, when they spotted members of the paparazzi waiting outside for them.

When they left the restaurant, both Garfield and Emma hid their faces behind notecards that featured the websites of their favorite charities.

"Good morning! We were eating and saw a group of guys with cameras outside. And so we thought, let's try this again. We don't need the attention, but these wonderful organizations do: -->" read Stone's card.

Garfield's card listed a number of charitable organizations.

"www.youthmentoring.org, www.autismspeaks.org (and don't forget) www.wwo.org, www.gildasclubnyc.org. Here's to the stuff that matters. Have a great day!"

Stone and Garfield pulled a similarly philanthropic stunt back in 2012.

Last year, when Egyptian military forces clashed with Morsi supporters, Benedict Cumberbatch held up a piece of paper that read, "Go photograph Egypt, and show the world something important."
