'SNL': Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone stage an awkward makeout session

The "Amazing Spider-Man 2" co-stars kiss so awkwardly, they need a little help from musical guest Chris Martin.

NEW YORK, May 5 (UPI) -- Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone turned the tables on their sizzling onscreen chemistry -- often cited as the Amazing Spider-Man reboot's most redeeming quality -- by kissing very awkwardly on this week's Saturday Night Live.

In one of the episode's most-circulated bits ("The Beygency" was another highlight), the real-life couple try kissing multiple times, with increasingly uncomfortable results.

Ultimately, Coldplay's newly single frontman Chris Martin steps in to help out.
