LOS ANGELES, March 3 (UPI) -- U.S. filmmaker Alexander Payne is set to direct "Downsizing," his first movie since his 2004 wine country comedy, "Sideways," Variety.com said.

Payne also co-wrote "Downsizing," which is expected to feature his "Sideways" star Paul Giamatti and "Election" leading lady Reese Witherspoon, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.
