Vietnam draws South Korean visitors

HANOI, Vietnam, June 11 (UPI) -- South Korea has become a major resource for the mushrooming tourism industry in Vietnam, a study reported.

"Opportunities in Vietnam Tourism Industry," released Sunday by Research and Markets in Dublin, indicated visitors to Vietnam come mainly from China, South Korea, the United States and Japan, Bizjournals.com reported.

"Apart from receiving a large tourist base from these countries," the report said, "Vietnam should also benefit from Russia" during the next five years.

A visitor to Vietnam will spend an average of more than $976 a day by 2011, the report said.
