'Spidey' spins more box-office gold

LOS ANGELES, May 13 (UPI) -- "Spider-Man 3" held on to the No. 1 spot at the U.S. box office this weekend with an estimated $60 million in ticket sales.

The third installment of Columbia Pictures' adaptation of the Marvel Comics tale has grossed an estimated $242 million domestically in its first two weekends -- and $622 million worldwide, after pulling in another $85.5 million internationally this weekend.

"28 Weeks Later" opened at No. 2 this weekend with an estimated $10 million, followed by the new Jane Fonda-Lindsay Lohan movie, "Georgia Rule," which opened with $5.8 million, Box Office Mojo reported.

"Disturbia" came in at No. 4 this week with $4.8 million, and a five-week total of more than $66 million.

The new military-themed comedy "Delta Farce" opened at No. 5 with $3.5 million.

The remainder of this weekend's top 10: "Fracture," $2.9 million; "The Invisible," $2.2 million; "Hot Fuzz," $1.6 million; "Next," $1.6 million; and "Meet the Robinsons," $1.6 million.
