LOS ANGELES, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- Hollywood star Hilary Swank has quashed a rumor that she split from husband, actor Chad Lowe, in May because he had become too famous for Lowe.
"Millions of men and women fall in love, get married, then get divorced," she said in the January issue of Reader's Digest, People Magazine reported Friday.
"If what happened to me helps someone realize they're in a great relationship and to hold the person closer, then do it. If it makes someone realize they're in an unhealthy relationship that is making them both unhappy, then it's not the end of the world," said Swank -- a two-time Oscar-winning actress.
The actress said she relied on her friends for support during her split.
"You rely on your friends when you go through something so big," she said. "My friends are my family."
Swank is in a relationship with one of her agents at Creative Artists Agents, John Campisi.
