CHICAGO, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Actor Vince Vaughn reportedly purchased a penthouse atop the Palmolive Building in Chicago for $9 million.
But he reportedly did not stop there, purchasing the $6 million apartment under it for his mother, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Wednesday.
"Vaughn was in town a little over a week ago checking out the penthouse with a decorator," a source told the paper. "He wanted things sleek, but he wanted things large."
Vaughn was only in and out of the penthouse in a matter of hours. He had just returned from Northern Ireland where he was filming a documentary about the neighborhoods in war-torn Belfast.
"The name on the lease is only his," the source said.
Vaughn's significant other, Jennifer Aniston, was not present in Chicago has not surfaced since her last visit with Vaughn's parents in suburban Lake Forest, reported the Times.
