Satellite Stern highlights Sirius sample

NEW YORK, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Sirius Satellite Radio is using New York shock jock Howard Stern as bait to lure subscribers to its new Internet service.

Listeners will get free access to Stern and 74 other Sirius channels Thursday and Friday by registering at the company's Web site or at howardstern.com, Sirius said in a news release Wednesday.

The free offerings are aimed at signing up subscribers for the Sirius Internet product, which retails for $12.99 per month.

Stern's special guests during the free shows will include Who guitarist Pete Townsend and rock maven Sharon Osbourne as well as familiar cast members Baba Booey and Jackie "Jokeman" Martling.
