RIVERHEAD, N.Y., Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Model Christie Brinkley has reportedly laid the foundation for a divorce from Peter Cook by filing a "summons with notice" in Riverhead, N.Y.
Although Brinkley filed the summons last week with the Suffolk County Clerk's office on Long Island, she has not given the go-ahead for the document to be delivered to her estranged husband, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.
"He hasn't been served and I don't think there are any plans to serve him. This matter is on hold," Cook's attorney Norman Sheresky told the Daily News.
"How long it is on hold is up to Ms. Brinkley," he added.
Brinkley and her husband split after he admitted having an affair with his 19-year-old assistant. Cook has publicly apologized to Brinkley in the hopes of repairing their marriage, the Daily News said.
