LOS ANGELES, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Actor Christian Slater has re-filed divorce papers in Los Angeles saying he and his estranged wife have been apart for a year longer than he originally claimed.
The first round of papers filed by the actor in February of last year said he and Ryan Haddon separated Jan. 5, 2005, but papers filed Friday amend the separation date to Jan. 1, 2004, E! Online reported Monday.
The latest papers also say the couple decided their own undisclosed property division agreement on Aug. 8 and asks the court to give Slater joint custody of their children, Eliana, 4, and Jaden, 6.
The pair married on Valentine's Day 2000.
Haddon was arrested for domestic battery in November 2003 for throwing a glass at Slater's head and leaving a gash that required nine stitches.
Although she was not criminally charged, the new filing reveals the couple split not long after the incident.
