Dennis Quaid joins Walk of Fame

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- About 300 friends and fellow actors showed up to see Dennis Quaid get his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

At the Wednesday ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard, Quaid, 51, joked about the length of his career, Zap2it.com reported Thursday.

"I remember when this town was a beanfield," he says. "I've been here 125 years. I started with Charlie Chaplin."

Quaid has appeared in more than 40 films including "The Right Stuff," "The Big Easy," "Innerspace," "Great Balls of Fire," "Wyatt Earp," "The Parent Trap," "Any Given Sunday," "The Rookie," "Far From Heaven" and "The Day After Tomorrow."

His latest film -- a remake of the family comedy "Yours, Mine and Ours" -- opens nationwide Wednesday, Nov. 23.
