Actresses sued for not delivering books

NEW YORK, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Hollywood actresses Dyan Cannon and Margot Kidder are being sued by their New York publishers for failing to deliver promised autobiographies.

Cannon, 68, is being sued by HarperCollins for $21,000 while Simon & Schuster's suit seeks $48,000 from Kidder, 56, the New York Post reported Sunday.

The sums being sought in Manhattan Supreme Court are the remainders of advances the women were paid to pen their memoirs.

The suit against Cannon says she started repaying her advance in monthly installments after she backed out of a deal to detail her marriage to Cary Grant, her nervous breakdown and her climb back to "salvation," the lawsuit said. However she stopped paying in February this year.

Kidder started writing her book, but reportedly lost three years of work when her computer crashed.
