Lindsay Lohan involved in L.A. crash

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Teen actress Lindsay Lohan's second Los Angeles car wreck did not involve paparazzi, sheriff's deputies said Wednesday.

Lohan's black Mercedes-Benz collided with a van Tuesday just blocks from where she was rammed by an over-zealous photographer a few months ago, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Lohan's publicist told the newspaper the young star was again being stalked by paparazzi, but if that is true, "it was not a factor," a sheriff's spokesman said. "It didn't cause the accident."

Witnesses said Lohan hit the van on the driver's side when it made a U-turn in front of her. The van then struck a large truck.

It wasn't clear whether Lohan thought she was being chased at the time of the crash, but witnesses said she was traveling at a high rate of speed.

The driver of the van was hospitalized with moderate injuries while Lohan and her passenger suffered minor injuries, the report said.

Lohan's crash four months ago was one of the incidents that prompted a new California law cracking down on aggressive photographers. The photographer in that incident was charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
