Richard Gere to star in 'Flock'

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Golden Globe winner Richard Gere will star in "The Flock," the $35 million, English-language debut of Hong Kong director Andrew Lau.

Gere will play a federal agent who is training his female replacement while trying to find a missing girl and connect her disappearance to a paroled sex offender, the Hollywood Reporter said Wednesday.

Gere is in New York filming "The Hoax," in which he plays author Clifford Irving, whose bogus biography of Howard Hughes in the 1970s sparked a media frenzy.
