Helen Hunt will direct first feature

LOS ANGELES, May 9 (UPI) -- Helen Hunt will star in and direct the upcoming feature film "Then She Found Me."

Daily Variety said Hunt will make her feature film directing debut, working from her own adaptation of an Elinor Lipman novel about a woman whose birth mother comes back into her life after her adoptive parents die. Diane Keaton and Woody Harrelson are said to be in talks to join the project.

"It is a story about betrayal and the surprising, funny and redemptive things that are borne out of that," said Hunt -- who won a Best Actress Oscar in 1997 for "As Good as It Gets" and four Emmys for the NBC comedy "Mad About You."

Hunt will be seen this year with Paul Newman in the HBO miniseries "Empire Falls" and in the upcoming feature "A Good Woman," co-starring Scarlett Johansson.
