Lance, girlfriend sued by former assistant

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- U.S. cycling champion Lance Armstrong and his rocker girlfriend, Sheryl Crow, are being sued by a former assistant to the Tour de France legend.

Mike Anderson wants $500,000 in damages for allegedly being wrongfully dismissed, the TV tabloid show "Celebrity Justice" reported. Anderson also says he had a deal, now scrapped, with Armstrong to open a bike shop.

A lawyer for Armstrong said Anderson was let go for interrupting Armstrong's training routine.

"I think that the chemistry just didn't work," the lawyer said.

"He ran errands and he was principally a bike mechanic. Mr. Anderson tends to get car sick on training rides in Spain and Armstrong would have to go back, which was not the best training regimen."
