LOS ANGELES, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Dennis Hopper and John Leguizamo head a list of actors announced for the George A. Romero movie "Land of the Dead," Daily Variety said Friday.
Just one day after Universal announced it had acquired distribution rights to the zombie movie, producers said they have signed Hopper ("Speed") and Leguizamo ("Moulin Rouge") -- as well as Simon Baker ("The Ring 2,") Asia Argento (XXX) and Robert Joy ("Helter Skelter").

"Land of the Dead" is about a community living in a walled-in city, protected from zombies. Variety said Baker, Argento and Leguizamo will play a military unit sent out to take on a gathering zombie threat in an armored vehicle called the Dead Reckoning.
