'The View' is Dallas bound

DALLAS, June 22 (UPI) -- Producers have decided to take Barbara Walters and "The View" cast to Dallas for two days of programming to coincide with breast cancer awareness month.

The road trip is set for October with the talk show airing its Dallas-based broadcasts Oct. 25 and 26, New York Daily News reported Tuesday.

Quilted Northern, the toilet paper maker, will sponsor the shows, which will tie in with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to create a "Quilt of Inspiration," an event aimed at producing world's largest quilt for a charitable cause.

Moving the broadcast from its New York studios "freshens up the show," said Bill Geddie, executive producer. "It re-energizes the show to take it on the road. I see it with our staff."

"The View," which has previously broadcast from Las Vegas and Los Angeles, stars Walters, Star Jones, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Joy Behar and Meredith Vieira.
