3D graphics team auctions services on eBay

SAN FRANCISCO, March 31 (UPI) -- A laid-off, San Francisco-based 3D graphics development team is auctioning its services on eBay, but so far the highest bid is only $560 after nine days.

The 12-member team says it lost its job to overseas firms that work for less money.

The group worked on high-octane blockbusters, such as "The Last Samurai" and "Mission: Impossible," and video games similar to "Myst" and "The Matrix" before being "offshored."

"High-tech is really shaken up by offshoring," the team's eBay site says. "For us, we've been like a family for more than a decade, so we are focusing our energies on keeping our team intact. Our jobs were offshored because companies needed to focus on the bottom line. We feel it is their loss and your gain."

Bidders can read background on the team under the entry of e-Dream Team.

The online auction began March 23 and is expected to close April 2. So far, 13 people have bid on the crew.
