NEW YORK, March 23 (UPI) -- Married U.S. pop singers and reality TV stars Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey are set to host a variety-hour special for ABC.
Simpson will sing "Who Will Save Your Soul" with Jewel and "Islands in the Stream" with Kenny Rogers, and perform her new single -- a cover of Berlin's "Take My Breath Away" -- during "The Nick & Jessica Variety Hour," airing April 11, MTV reported Tuesday.
In addition to the three Simpson performances, the show will feature Lachey and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds tag-teaming on the Stevie Wonder favorite "For Once in My Life," as well as several comedy sketches, MTV said.
"The Nick & Jessica Variety Hour" is being produced by Jessica's father, Joe Simpson, who also produces "Newlyweds," and Joel Gallen, the longtime MTV Movie Awards producer who has also produced several Super Bowl half-time shows.
Along with the variety show, both Lachey and Simpson are developing sit-coms for ABC, MTV noted.
