LOS ANGELES, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Will Ferrell's new soccer comedy is getting a new director one week into filming, representatives for Universal Pictures said in Los Angeles.
According to Variety, Jesse Dylan, who helmed "American Wedding," will take over Marco Schnabel's directing duties on "Kicking & Screaming."
The trade paper said the family comedy is being shot during a narrow window in Ferrell's busy schedule, as the "Saturday Night Live" alum and "Elf" star is scheduled to start filming "Bewitched" for Columbia Pictures this summer.
He also wrapped a Woody Allen film and Focus Features' "Winter Passing" late last year.
"Kicking & Screaming" would have been Schnabel's first directing job after serving as second unit director on several Jay Roach projects, including "Meet the Parents" and the "Austin Powers" series.
Universal said the shooting schedule should not be affected by the change in directors.
