More actors doing Broadway

NEW YORK, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Following in the wake of Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane, who starred on Broadway in "The Producers," A-list movie actors are flocking to the theater.

While Lane and Broderick are set to return in "The Producers" in December for two months at a salary of over $100,000 a week each, other Hollywood actors are turning away millions for the bright lights of Broadway.

Ashley Judd reportedly turned down a $10 million offer to play the lead in the movie "Catwoman" to play Maggie in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" on Broadway while Hugh "Wolverine" Jackman plays the late Peter Allen in "The Boy from Oz," the New York Post reported.

Kevin Kline and Ethan Hawke will star in "Henry IV" at New York City's Lincoln Center, beginning on Nov. 20.

"In some ways, the biggest challenge is doing a play, because you're doing it live, every night, eight times a week," Broadway producer Michael Rego told the Post.
