Army contracts Jacobs Engineering for logistics support

PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 8 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army is to receive global logistics and support services from the Jacobs Engineering Group under an award worth as much as $135 million.

The company said work under the contract includes logistics planning, analysis, acquisition and life cycle management for the Army's Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois and for other installations worldwide that support ongoing contingency operations.

The contract has a one-year base period of performance and two one-year options. It supports the Army Sustainment Command Logistics Civil Augmentation Program as well as the Army Contracting Command–Rock Island LOGCAP and Reachback Division.

"We are delighted to continue our support to the U.S. Army and to have the opportunity to partner with them in support of U.S. contingency operations," Jacobs Group Vice President Robert Norfleet said in announcing the award.

Additional contract details were not provided.

Jacobs, headquartered in California, is a major provider of technical and construction services.
