Elbit touts supply of satellite communications amplifiers

FORT WORTH, Texas, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Elbit Systems of America LLC is shining the spotlight on its production of communications amplifiers for the U.S. military.

The company delivers hundreds of compact, lightweight amplifiers to the Army, Air Force and Navy each year, and since 2010 more than 300 TC-100D SATCOM amplifiers for rotor aircraft of the Army's Special Operations Forces under an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award.

Under a new award issued this year, Elbit Systems is delivering an undisclosed number of TC-100L SATCOM units to the Army for use on the service's OH-58 Kiowa Warrior helicopters. The units are being delivered this quarter, the company said.

"Elbit Systems of America has years of experience providing integrated solutions for the Army's rotary-wing fleet, which includes the OH-58, AH-64, CH-47 and the UH-60," said Raanan Horowitz, president and chief executive officer of Elbit Systems of America. "Our engineers understand the importance of designing to solve size and weight challenges.

"If it is a concern for the pilot, it is a concern for us. We are committed to providing advanced and reliable communications technology in small, lightweight, compact enclosures to meet the needs of our Army Aviators."
