USAF civil engineering award for LMI

SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force Civil Engineer Center has given government consulting firm LMI a five-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity support contract.

Under the Independent Systems Engineering and Acquisition Support award, which has an expected ceiling of $40 million, LMI will compete for task orders in areas such as environment, design and construction, base relocation, enhanced use leasing, and sustainability.

"This opportunity is perfect for LMI because it draws on our cross-functional expertise, our deep understanding of the federal landscape, and our commitment to providing effective, value-driven solutions to public sector challenges," LMI Southwest Regional Director Eric Stephens said.

LMI, a not-for-profit participant in the Independent Systems Engineering and Acquisition Support award and is teamed with the Southwest Research Institute and the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Southwest Research Institute will provide support in earth sciences, environmental science and specialty areas of engineering.

"This provides an opportunity for the Institute to assist the Air Force in areas that go beyond its historical support in equipment, systems and logistical evaluations," SwRI President J. Dan Bates said.
