LONDON, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Australian and Singaporean defense companies have partnered to jointly develop, manufacture and market munitions for the Australian and New Zealand market.
Australian Munitions, the largest manufacturer of munitions and explosives in Australia, and Singapore Technologies Kinetics Ltd said cooperation would revolve around ST Kinetics's 40mm low velocity, extended range, and air bursting ammunition.
The companies said they aim to make new 40mm capabilities available to the Australian Department of Defense and introduce an innovative supply chain approach which includes reciprocation of supply.
Additional details of the agreement were not disclosed.
The agreement was announced at the Defense and Security Equipment International exhibition in London earlier this week.
ST Kinetics designs and manufactures a range of 40mm weapons and ammunition, fire control units and other ammunition. Australian Munitions provides ammunition, propellants, explosives and related services to the Australian Defense Force, as well as propellants and ammunition for military and civilian customers.
