Indra creates cyber-security center

MADRID, July 16 (UPI) -- Indra, the Spanish information technology company, has started a cyber-security operations center to provide protection for customers' IT systems and networks.

The center, called i-CSOC, includes a laboratory to analyze new technologies, develop solutions and conduct forensic analysis of attacks.

"The creation of i-CSOC allows Indra to concentrate and strengthen all the cyber-security knowledge it has," the company said. "The company can also provide the best service at the most competitive cost.

"Among the most immediate benefits: the need to maintain cyber-security experts at the customer's facilities is reduced, which represents a significant saving; and the center serves multiple customers, which helps i-CSOC detect common vulnerabilities and problems early on."

Among the center's other cyber-security sections is a highly secured area where it provides services to defense ministries of NATO countries, a cyber-intelligence section which analyses information on the web to detect reputation risks and electronic fraud, and a communications area that disseminates information about threats and counter-measures.
