The MASTER -- Moyen Adapte a la Simulation des Transmissions en Reseaux -- simulator to be delivered by 2014 will combine simulation techniques with actual transmissions to support training in the deployment and operation of transmission networks, the company said.

"MASTER will provide instructors with the facilities they need to run exercises in the form of operational scenarios as well as assess trainees and perform end-of-course debriefing," Thales said.

"By connecting to MASTER and the exercises developed by the ETRS signals academy, regiments will benefit from the simulated network environment, avoid the need to deploy real equipment in the field, generate substantial savings and minimize the ecological footprint of their preparations."
