"The ship will be built according to the successful SIGMA modular building strategy, as a sequel to the earlier built four SIGMA Corvettes for (the Indonesian navy)," Damen Schelde said. "This means that modules of the frigate will be built in Europe as well as locally at PT PAL in Surabaya, Indonesia."

The SIGMA PKR 10514 will be 344.5 feet long and 49.9 feet wide. It will have a combination of diesel and electric power propulsion systems and will be equipped with a full range of surveillance capabilities, missile, gun and torpedo systems.

Delivery of the vessel to the Indonesian navy will take place in 2016, Damen Schelde said, but the monetary value of the contract signed with the Indonesian Ministry of Defense wasn't disclosed.
