DOHA, Qatar, March 21 (UPI) -- Cassidian will be among presenters at the upcoming third Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition and Conference in Qatar.
The DIMDEX 2012 exhibition will provide Cassidian, a subsidiary of European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company N.V., with its first opportunity to showcase its Border Guard Surveillance Vehicle, the company said.
The BGSV provides an integrated mobile surveillance solution together with a mobile command and control center, Cassidian said.
"Cassidian is already delivering integrated surveillance solutions for (Persian) Gulf Cooperation Council countries," said Cassidian Qatar Chief Executive Officer Marc Gentil.
"At the Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition and Conference, Cassidian will present command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance and automatic electronic investigation system, which can secure and protect territorial waters, strategic areas and terrestrial borders from any illegal security violations.
"It is widely predicted that defense spending in the Middle East will exceed $100 billion by 2015 and Cassidian's strong footprint in the region has enabled us to deliver consistent and effective security solutions for high level projects," Gentil said.
The exhibition runs next Monday-Wednesday.
