HERNDON, Va., Dec. 15 (UPI) -- A high-speed data transfer system on the U.S. Department of Defense's Unified Cross Domain Management Office baseline list is now available commercially.
Raytheon said its High Speed Guard 3.0.3 secure, bi-directional data transfer system enables complex, automated data transfer from one network to another. It has transfer rates of more than 9 gigabytes per second on dual processor commodity servers.
The servers run a hardened Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system.
Previously High Guard was offered as a service, with customers purchasing each additional feature that was added to the product.
As a commercial off-the-shelf product, customers receive enhancements at no charge as part of a standard maintenance agreement. Customers will also have freedom of choice in selecting a hardware platform on which to run HSG, Raytheon said.
"The commercialization of HSG provides significant advantages to customers," said Ed Hammersla, chief operating officer for Raytheon Trusted Computer Solutions. "Now they can purchase a product license and maintenance contract and will receive all new product enhancements as well as customer support."
