Intellicheck Mobilisa to aid U.S. Marines

PORT TOWNSEND, Wash., Sept. 23 (UPI) -- A California Marine Corps base has tasked Intellicheck Mobilisa of Washington to provide them with the Defense ID access control system.

The contract from the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif., is valued at $200,000.

The contract covers equipment, software, installation, training and warranties.

"We are very pleased to provide Twentynine Palms with the Defense ID system," said Nelson Ludlow, chief executive officer of Intellicheck Mobilisa. "As a leading training post for Marine units preparing for their tours overseas, we are proud they chose Defense ID for screening their visitors and to be assisting them in protecting our troops."

Using the company's patented ID reading technology, Defense ID quickly scans various forms of identifications -- such as driver's licenses, military IDs or passports -- and instantly compares the data to more than "bad guy" lists, the company said.

The Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms is the world's largest Marine Corps base and the premier training facility for Marine operations.
