Kanguru flash drive receives certification

MILLIS, Mass., March 11 (UPI) -- The U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology certified flash-drive technology from Kanguru Solutions following a testing and evaluation.

U.S. company Kanguru announced its Defender Elite flash drive received a Federal Information Processing Standards 140-2 certification after meeting strict security and encryption requirements.

Kanguru says the certification verifies its Defense Elite meets new Defense Department flash-drive standards to protect sensitive government data from cyberterrorism, among other threats.

"Working with our federal customers, we have designed our newest encrypted flash drives to meet or exceed the security needs of these new, stricter security regulations," Don Brown, Kanguru Solutions chief executive officer, said in a statement.
