The BAE and Anjani proposal is part of an effort to address the Central Reserve Police Force's solicitation for 59,000 protective jackets. The companies announced plans collaborate on other survivability products for the India security and defense market.

"Bringing Tensylon ballistic tape to India is a critical first step forward for our two strong companies," Tony Russell, BAE Systems Security and Survivability president, said in a statement.

"Together, with Anjani's established production base in India; and BAE Systems' global presence and continuous investment in survivability technologies, we are collectively leveraging our strengths, talents and resources to better protect India's police forces and support India's first responders."
