Optex, L-3 partner for CECOM bid

RICHARDSON, Texas, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Optex Systems Holdings Inc. has partnered with L-3 Communications in a moved to address U.S. Defense Department night-vision protection requirements.

U.S. companies Optex and L-3 have signed a teaming agreement in a move to jointly address a call by the Communications and Electronics Command for laser interference filter technologies.

As part of the agreement Optex and L-3's Electro-Optical Systems division will work to develop a proposal for the Communications and Electronics Command's indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract solicitation designed to protect night-vision technologies.

"Optex has been a great customer of our Electro-Optical Systems division for many years and we look forward to teaming with them on the Laser Interference Filter program," Gregg Bell, L-3 Communications Electro-Optical Systems division president, said in a statement.

"We believe the breadth and depth of our two companies provides the best value solution for our war fighters."
