Officials say with the Itemiser DX completing the TSA certification, a process in the Homeland Security Department's Transportation Security Laboratory, it becomes one of only two detectors to receive the rigorous TSA approval.

"We are very pleased that the Itemiser DX is the latest detector to receive certification from the Transportation Security Administration," Dennis Cooke, GE Security Homeland Protection president, said in a statement.

"As one of only two companies certified with this type of product, it is a true testament of GE Security's commitment to developing innovative solutions that meet the demands of various industries and governments to ensure the safety and security of people."
