BWB officials say the contract is an effort to enhance the level of protection for German soldiers in transport vehicles. The Eagle IV, capable of adapting to various mission requirements through modular add-on kits, is a 4x4 armored vehicle that offers soldiers protection from mines and other explosive threats.

"This order is an important milestone for the international success of our Eagle IV, as well as for the continuous development of our relationship with Germany as a key customer," Lutz Kampmann, General Dynamics European Land Systems vice president of Wheeled Vehicles, said in a statement.

"The contract demonstrates the BWB's confidence in our products."
